Lunch

Demolished Linguine

Originally I'd planned an elaborate photographic journey through Monday's lunch at Tapenade, but clearly I was too hungry for that shit. (My Linguine Boscaiola was appetizer size, okay?! Don't judge that empty plate.) As always, the food and service were top-notch and it was the perfect way for a few of my classmates and I to start our last week before winter break.

The Last Week

Schedule, originally uploaded by leannagarnett.

One more week to go! I don't have any final exams which is beyond awesome, but it also means that I have five projects due in five days. In other words, Adobe owns my taskbar for the weekend. I've even made the decision* to stay in and refrain from partying in order to get as much done as possible!

I Just Can't

Because what the world really needs is another useless disposable item. These have been around for a while, but if you're a non-TV-watching hipster and haven't seen the commercials yet, Kleenex Hand Towels are basically glorified paper towels that you use to dry your hands because regular cloth towels are "unclean".

I'll ignore Kleenex's insistence on calling the dispenser "innovative" and "revolutionary" (really? Your age-old tissue box design begs to differ) and the fact that if anything, they only promote germ growth (much like antibacterial soap) and keep this rant short.

If you're the type of person to spend $3+tax on 60 disposable hands towels for your bathroom, cool. I'm wiping my hands on you.

End of Semester Blues

It's that time of year where in my mind the semester is already over, but in reality I still have five projects to do.

English - Essay: 0% complete
PR Writing - Newsletter: 99% complete
PR Practice - PR Plan: 20% complete
Visual Design - Brochure: 0% complete
Computer Skills - Christmas Card: 0% complete

I'm confident in my ability to finish everything in the next couple days so I can truly relax all next week. I've decided to "work from home" tomorrow because I figure I'll get more done if I don't spend 4 hours in the rainy commute to and from school.

Have I mentioned how much I hate the commute? It would be tolerable if school wasn't in the desolate wasteland known as Richmond, but it is. The nearest Starbucks is 15 minutes from campus and thus not feasible for a morning coffee and thus unacceptable.

What first world problems have you faced lately?

Hello World

Alex: Calm down, Lisa. DMY.
Lisa: What's DMY?
Alex: Don't mess yourself.
Lisa: Eeew!
Alex: Yeah, that's why we changed it to DMY.
