Ever have one of those days where it seems like the world is out to get you? Today was one of those days.
It started early. I was finishing up some work before getting ready for class, which included putting the final touches on a PowerPoint and handout that I was to use in my final presentation that afternoon. Run downstairs with my trusty USB stick, print the handout, everything is running smoothly and for once I'm actually ahead of schedule. Until, of course, 20 minutes later when I'm packing up everything I need for the day and realise I can't find my USB stick.
To understand the panic that pierced my heart at that moment, let me tell you what was on that stick:
- Everything.
Seriously. All the work I've done this semester as well as all the work I'm currently doing and need to hand in this week. I felt like Carrie Bradshaw when her beloved Powerbook died. Remember to always back up your work!
Of course, logic told me that it wasn't lost and it simply must be somewhere between the printer, the kitchen, the bathroom, and my room. Cut to 30 minutes and one torn apart room later, and I finally find it...in my pillowcase? I had no time to be confused by this as I immediately had to dash out the door to make it to the bus.
Finally, I'm on the bus. I'm flipping through my cue cards, going over what I'm going to say and how I'm going to say it. We're getting close to school so I go to put them away and that's when I manage to give myself two large, deep paper cuts right along the nail beds of my left middle and ring fingers. Blood. Everywhere.
Obviously, I survived and even managed to give a pretty good (I think--it's always hard to tell!) presentation on my girl Margaret Atwood. But oh man am I ever glad this semester is almost over!

The terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day

I know, I know
I'm a horrible blogger. I feel like I have a pretty good excuse, though:

Not pictured: Marketing final exam the week after. Ugh.
I've put myself on a strict academic lockdown which means no partying until next Thursday. Of course, it's only when I say I won't go out that I suddenly become popular and have people asking to hang left and right. Not cool, guys. Not cool.
One thing I've been meaning to do is more FASHION POSTS. Unfortunately, my morning routine (sleep in until the last minute, rush around, fly out the door) doesn't leave time for pictures and when I get home it's straight into a tshirt and my favourite neon tribal harem pants.
That said, here's what I wore the last time I left the house for non-school purposes (Cafe Crepe and the Waldorf - two of my trusty standbys):

Dress: Zara
Boots: Doc Marten
I'm obsessed with this dress. From afar it looks like your average black dress, but get up close and BAM! Lace!

My sister says it looks like something out of Big Love, but I take that as a comparison to Chloe Sevigny and thus a compliment (even if she does hate Canada).
I've been in a bit of a makeup rut lately, but one that I don't particularly care to leave: thick dark brows, black eyeliner, red lips. I recently splurged on Tarte's matte lipstain in "Fiery" and I'll never look back.
Sidenote: I hate how deceiving the prices are for Canadians on Sephora's website. The lipstain was actually $31 before tax! Would it kill Sephora to have an actual Canadian site?
I really need to get back to studying for my Marketing quiz tomorrow (UGH), so I leave you with my new-ish feather extensions:

If you like attention and random compliments from strangers: GET FEATHER EXTENSIONS. They're ridiculously easy to install (?) on your own and everyone will be oohing and aahing. Lovely.

The Last Week
One more week to go! I don't have any final exams which is beyond awesome, but it also means that I have five projects due in five days. In other words, Adobe owns my taskbar for the weekend. I've even made the decision* to stay in and refrain from partying in order to get as much done as possible!
* I retain the right to change my mind at any time.

End of Semester Blues
It's that time of year where in my mind the semester is already over, but in reality I still have five projects to do.
English - Essay: 0% complete
PR Writing - Newsletter: 99% complete
PR Practice - PR Plan: 20% complete
Visual Design - Brochure: 0% complete
Computer Skills - Christmas Card: 0% complete
I'm confident in my ability to finish everything in the next couple days so I can truly relax all next week. I've decided to "work from home" tomorrow because I figure I'll get more done if I don't spend 4 hours in the rainy commute to and from school.
Have I mentioned how much I hate the commute? It would be tolerable if school wasn't in the desolate wasteland known as Richmond, but it is. The nearest Starbucks is 15 minutes from campus and thus not feasible for a morning coffee and thus unacceptable.
What first world problems have you faced lately?
